Christmas Musical

Each year our church puts together a fantastic performance by highly talented people from the congregation. It's always a big production which requires months of practicing. We were asked to document the event with our cameras, so all the hard work would not be forgotten. The quaint dinner theater was quite nice and the desserts were fabulous. What a great way to celebrate the holiday.

Dave + Jaime

Dave and Jaime were recently engaged and are planning a beautiful wedding for next summer when it will be nice and warm. In the meantime, they wanted some engagement photos before the snow. Although it didn't snow during their photo shoot, it sure did feel like it could. They were so happy it didn't matter. I was bundled from head to toe and was still cold. They are such a warm, genuine couple. We loved getting to know them better while taking their pictures and learning more about them as a couple over hot apple cider! Congratulations you two!! We are looking forward to continuing the fun we had while capturing your wedding day.

Grant + Rachel

Rachel and Grant have to be the coolest people I know. They are both very talented graphic designers and Grant is a photographer as well. Not only do they have a great appreciation for art, they have such a deep love for one another, which is truly evident in how they live.
Rachel and I met in college and took a lot of our art classes together. She was one of my favorite models to photograph in the studio as well as on the North Carolina flat land. Rachel and Grant now live in Vermont and recently celebrated their third anniversary. As a gift to one another they asked me to do some portraits of them just outside of Boston. Brian, Abby and I had a total blast hanging out with them and getting some incredible images. The weather was absolutely freezing. Abby had never been that cold before and she let us know. As she was on the verge of a meltdown, we came across an empty, warm, well lit, historical church. We were very grateful to take a break and be inside for a few minutes. We finished up the session in a coffee shop with hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookie for Abby.

So sweet.

Can't resist the awesome!

Before Brian left for work this morning he made me promise to stay on track with the work load and resit jumping ahead to sorting through some of the most awesome photos from yesterday's shoot outside of Boston. I'm staying true to my word, however, I did let myself choose one photo to play with. This was the winner! I'm so excited to show you the rest!!!

Sunday Morning

I had just gotten up and out of bed. On my way to Abby's room and peered out the highest window on the vaulted ceiling. I noticed a gorgeous sky. This happens often, whether I'm driving home from work, getting ready in the morning or coming in from a late night, I notice the beauty of God's creation. It's been magnificent rainbows, a gorgeous moon, amazing bolts of lightning, beautiful foliage, and the sun breaking through clouds. I'm always wishing I had the time to stop and take it in because I know it will only last a moment.
As I passed by the window a second time, I couldn't resist any longer. I told Brian to keep an eye on Abby, summoned the dog and grabbed my camera. We hopped in the car and I prayed for God to lead me to the perfect location, one close by with enough open land. I immediately thought of the high school. It was incredible. Every shot was different. Every second the sky was changing and I couldn't adjust my settings fast enough. The baseball field was covered in water from the rain the day before. Joey absolutely loved it! He ran and ran. I took it in and enjoyed every possible moment.
