Ragan Family

The first half of this week was absolutely beautiful. Then this morning when my alarm clock went off it was dark and I could hear rain pounding on our roof. Needless to say, I did not want to get out of bed. I'm so happy we were able to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather while it lasted and although I'm inside, sitting behind a computer, I can remember how gorgeous it was through the images we were able to take.
Casey is a fellow friend and photographer. We share the joy of doing what we love, taking care of our babies and taking pictures. The Ragans needed some family photos and we did too, so we managed to sneak away and photograph each other. Baby Riley is at the perfect age. She is happy and flexible. We had a blast and I'm having a difficult time sorting through so many images I like. Here are some of my favorites.

I guess lately I have a thing for feet.

I love the lighting in this image, such a happy one to end on.

Abby is sixteen months old. Being still is not on her agenda. It is, however, on ours :)

Last day of summer sun.

Taking a walk and enjoying the last bit of warm air as the sun goes down. Fall is here.

Joe and Liz

Some good friends of ours, Joe and Liz, were married three years ago. They had asked me to photograph their day, but it happened to be my brother's wedding day too. I have never known a bride who continues to enjoy her wedding gown more than Liz. She wanted me to take some less traditional photographs of her in her dress and Joe had to come along and be in some of the photos. Since getting dressed up and taking bridal portraits for the fun of it isn't Joe's thing, his one condition was for him to be able to watch and play with Abby. Joe absolutely LOVES children and never passes up an opportunity to hang out with them. We always have a lot of fun when we get together with these friends and can count on the fact that we can do absolutely nothing, yet still have a good time and laugh. The best part about this session is that Liz is pregnant! She knew if she didn't get into her dress and make it happen she never would. We are so happy for them and look forward to seeing them as the wonderful parents we know they will be.

I had to bring along my assistants! This was a family event :)

And this one is why you don't bring your dog to bridal photo shoots.

Check us out!

Our good friend, Craig (who is also an incredible photographer), visited us from North Carolina over the weekend. He tagged along to shoot a wedding with me. We picked him up from the airport in NY, so we drove into Manhattan for a quick photo shoot of just us. The day was wet and rainy, so we did our best to stay warm and dry which meant hanging in one location, but we had a blast.
